It was my third hotel in Israel and it was definetely the best one. The apartments are situated in the achient building just in several steps from Mahane Jeguda market, but the rooms have been recently renovated, so everything in my room is brand-new (all the furniture, kitchen facilities, bath facilities, big TV-set, etc.). The bed is really comfortable, and happily, the mattress is not so soft. It's a walking distance to the Old City (15 minutes to walk approximately) and it's rather close to the central bus station, although I prefered to take a tram because of my luggage - by tram it's the 3rd stop named Ha-Davidka.
A bit noisy from the street, but till midnight.
The house was newly renovated so the studio had new equipment and was quite nice. The location was quite good, near to the Old City. This is no hotel with reception, separate appartments are rented.
The bed was creaking all the time since it probably was not properly put together. There was a small kitchenette but no dishes to use, so such kitchenette was useless since I do not pack pots and cups for my holiday. There were also no shampoo, soap etc. Everything from the corridor/stairs was audible in the room so when somebody came later in the night they would easily wake you up. The room might have been cleaner. Definitely the price was too high for what you get.
great stay thanks- great location for marathon start/finish and close to old city
nearby building work, no cleaning service/fresh towels, bed a bit too hard
I recome d to stay here if you are comfortable staying somewhere that does not have 24 hour reception. It is in Jaffa st with the light rail stop a few metres away and the markets just up the road and Jaffa gate entrance just down the road... walkable or 2 stops away by light rail.. The manager speaks reasonable English and is so helpful... He is great.. The unit has a kettle, 2 cups, teaspoons and microwave but no other plates (we took a small picnic kit with us so were Ok). The markets supply fresh edibles and the salmon cooked well in the micowave on our picnic plates... yum! Traffic can not go to Jaffa st so if you do tours get them to pick you up from Abraham Hostel. It is juzt around the corner.... It is clean and new...
The bathroom is a little small but functional
